Every 19 seconds, someone in the US is diagnosed with diabetes

(Fremont County, Wyo.) - While the holiday season is in full swing, it's very important to remember to take care of yourself and stay healthy. It's still November, and it's important to consider a medical condition for which as many as 79 million American adults are at risk of contracting: diabetes. Diabetes is a major cause of heart disease, stroke, and other complications. The peripheral artery disease and lack of circulation in lower limbs that accompany severe cases of diabetes lead to difficult to heal wounds. People with diabetes often suffer from nerve damage in their feet and legs, allowing small wounds or irritations to develop without notice.
