Dispatch: Stolen bicycle, damage at Sunset Park and more

Here is today’s recap of law enforcement action around the county. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. *Riverton Police Department* *Arrests/Citations:* *Myron Nipwater*, 37, Lander, Contempt of Court *Calls:* There were 27 calls for service. A man was given a ride home at 12:12 a.m. from the 200 block of West Main Someone reportedly spun “cookies” or “donuts” in the grass at Sunset Park along North 2nd West. A caller said they failed to lock the 2012 Ford Expedition parked in the 1000 block of Sierra Drive and had $100 in cash stolen that was inside the vehicle. There are no suspects. A man was taken from the 600 block of South Federal to SageWest Riverton with low blood sugar. A scammer tried to entice a Riverton resident into giving up their credit card number by saying the card had been compromised and asked for the card number and ID code. The reporting party recognized the call as a scam and hung up, then reported it. A pink and black hog running at large near West Highway 26 and the Airport Road was captured and taken to a veterinarian. *Fremont County CoronerDeputy Coroner Erin Ivie released the verdict and docket in two cases today. The death of Mary E. Panighetti, 48, of Riverton on October 26 was ruled an accident from an overdose of methamphetamine. The cause of death was listed as "Cardiac and respiratory insufficiency/arrest due to Acute Methamphetamine toxicity." The relevant toxicology following and autopsy revealed the woman had 3,100 ng/ml of methamphetamine in her system and a byproduct, 420 ng/ml of amphetamine. In the second case, the death of Timothy L. Zimmerman, 68, on November 18th was ruled a natural death due to "Respiratory arrest due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease." The relevant toxicology revealed Zimmerman had been smoking marijuana just before his death. Fremont County Sheriff's Office* *Arrests:* None. The Fremont County Detention Center currently is responsible for 173 inmates. Of these, 152 are being held in the Fremont County Detention Center, eight are in substance abuse treatment programs throughout the state and out of the facility, two are on home detention, and 11 are being housed out of the facility. *Calls:* Deputies responded to a couple civil issues throughout the day, including when where a woman was afraid her estranged husband would come take things and another where a landlord was dictating where his tenant could park and disallowing any visitors. At 5:14 p.m., a caller on Gardens North Drive reported that there were two dogs left outside without food, water, or shelter. *Lander Police Department* *Arrests/citations:* *Michael Sniffin*, 34, Lander, Probation Violation. *Robert Wallowingbull*, 27, Riverton, FCSO Warrant and Driving Under Suspension. *Deanna Aragon*, 32, Lander, Driving Under Intoxication. *Calls:* At 10:17 a.m., a caller at Mr. D's reported an unknown person attempted to steal a $19 bottle of alcohol. At 10:41 a.m., a caller on Highway 287 reported a possible drunken driver headed into Lander. Police stopped the vehicle and confirmed that the driver was not intoxicated. At about 4 p.m., a caller on the 500 block of Main Street reported that there were several subjects driving around with weed and Xanax. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. A $400 black and red Genesis bicycle was reported stolen from Clinchard Street. A caller on Rail Lane reported that someone was stealing gas from her property. The report is under investigation. *Fremont County Ambulance* EMS crews responded to nine calls for service on Monday. *Fire Departments* Riverton Fire had the only call for Monday, which was a smoke investigation. #county10 #news
