*Riverton Police Department* *Arrests/Citations* *A 45-year-old Fort Washakie woman* was cited for attempting to shoplift $93 in multiple items from Walmart. *Joseph Keele*, 37, Riverton, on a Fremont County warrant *Calls:* *There were 34 calls for service* An ambulance was called for a woman having diabetic issues at 2: 25 a.m. in the 200 block of Kinnikinnick Drive. A dead deer was removed from the street in the 2100 block of North Federal at 3:28 a.m. An intoxicated man who slipped and fell was taken to the hospital at 7:22 a.m. for a gash in his head. After treatment, the man was taken to the Center of Hope. Police were called three times to an address at East Jackson and North 10th East where an older arthritic dog was reported to be very cold. The first two times the police responded, there was no one home. The third time the dog had been placed inside. A door hanger was left. Animal owners are reminded that pets are susceptible to cold weather hypothermia just as humans are and care should be taken to move pets inside when the weather turns very cold. A cat trap was left at Riverton High School for a cat that students keep letting inside the building. A report of a marijuana investigation at Riverton High School was not completed. A school bus fly-by was reported at 10:39 a.m. in the Riverton area. Someone broke into Phil’s Dog Shack on Main Street by busting a front serving window and removing $25 in change, and a $45 iPod Shuffle. Damage to the structure was estimated at $500. Another school bus fly-by was reported at 12:03 p.m. at East Monroe and South 20th East. The offending vehicle was described as a light blue older pickup. The registered owner was contacted, who told police he had sold the vehicle six months ago. Police are now looking for the new owner. A woman perpetrated a fraud at an optical shop in the 700 block of East Fremont after placing an order, paying with a check, and then cancelling the order. The business offered a refund check to the woman, who left and then cancelled the original check she had written. The amount of the check was not disclosed. The Wyoming Department of Corrections requested the RPD’s assistance after a van with nine inmates inside broke down at the Sand Draw Road and WYO 789 south of town. An officer stood by why the van was fixed. A small vehicle slid into a ditch on Chimney Rock Drive and Cathedral. The report of some suspicious boxes next to a trash receptacle in the 500 block of North 5th East turned out to be someone’s recycling. A guest at the Hampton Inn on North Federal reported that someone overnight had siphoned 100 gallons of diesel fuel from a tank on the bed of his truck. The fight was determined to be verbal only. A minor wreck was reported in Dubois on Wednesday afternoon where one vehicle backed into a dump truck. At 6:39 a.m. on Thursday, a caller asked for deputies' help when one of her dog's attacked another of her own.
