FCSD#25 Hall of Fame nomination process is now open through February

Nominations are now open for the second class of the Fremont County School District #25 Hall of Fame at Riverton High School. The second class will be inducted in the Fall of 2016. RHS Assistant Principal and Activities Director Jeremy Hill said the Hall of Fame is broad in scope, "but is intended to specifically recognize the significant achievement and contributions of current or past staff members or volunteers, as well as alumni who have made a distinguished contribution to society after graduation." Hill said community members are encouraged to identify and nominate coaches, teachers and staff that were instrumental in implementing innovative programs or leading outstanding teams. Individual standout students, as well as entire teams or programs, should be considered for induction as well. Making a nomination is easy and you have plenty of time. Follow the link on the district's website . The nomination portal will be open until February 1, 2016, Hill said. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee will then meet to narrow the list to a field of finalists. At that time, Hill said in a news release, more information may be gathered to help the committee name the inductees. Hill said final notification of the inductees is expected by mid-March. Individuals and teams that were nominated last year will remain active in the process. "Feel free to submit as much additional information on a nominee that you have," Hill said. "Often, this extra information is what is needed to push an individual from nominee to inductee. Questions about adding information may also be included. Members of the first class were: The1984, ’85, and ’86 State Champion Girl’s Track Team, Bill Strannigan, Brett Newlin, Leora Kennedy, Lois Sackman, Ron Thon, Sherry Douglas, Robert A. Peck, Everett Befus, and Carl Andre. Any person wishing to volunteer to serve on the committee planning the weekend festivities, including the banquet and recognition during other activities, please contact Hill, by calling the James H.
