Newman Ute

Newman Ute, age 72 of Ft. Washakie, Wyoming, died on December 13, 2015, at the family home at Boulder Flats Road. Cremation has taken place. A family run memorial service will take place on Sunday, December 20th at Robert’s Mission at 2 pm. [image: Inline image 1] Newman was born March 30, 1943, to Helmer Ute and Emma (Panzetanga) Ute in Fort Washakie, Wyoming. Newman graduated 8th grade at Ft. Washakie School and went on to Flandreau Indian School. He graduated from Casper College with a degree in auto mechanics. He then attended a technical school in Phoenix, Arizona, specializing in heavy equipment. Newman worked for J.I. Case in Litchfield Park, Arizona for several years. He also worked with the BIA on roads and as an outfitter in Dubois, Wyoming. He worked for the Eastern Shoshone Tribe in various departments until his retirement at 62. He enjoyed going to auctions, rodeos, powwow, and he liked to travel. He is survived by his wife, Marion Ute, his son, Michael Ute, Sr., daughters Lori Ute, Crystal Ute, and Connie Tyler. His sisters Joyce Posey and Angie Shoyo. As well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, Matthew Ute, Sr., brothers Leo Ute and Elias Ute, sisters Mae (Ute) Moon and Maxine Ute. #county10 #obits
