Dispatch: Meth arrest, possible mail theft reported and more

Here is Thursday's recap of law enforcement activity over the weekend. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. *Riverton Police Department* *Arrests/Citations:* *Coltin Hill*, 22, Riverton, Driving While Under the Influence *Benjamin Aragon*, 29, Riverton, Domestic Violence and on a Fremont County warrant. He was arrested after allegedly putting his hands around a woman's neck, hitting and biting her. Police found the victim’s face was swollen, a cut was on her right chin and there was a bite mark on her neck. *Eldon Antelope*, 50, Riverton, Public Intoxication. *Kenneth Shakespeare*, 29, of Arapahoe, Public Intoxication *Clement Eagle*, 43, of Arapahoe, Public Intoxication and Urinating in Public. *Aloysius Piper*, 48, Ethete, Public Intoxication. *A 16-year-old Riverton male* was cited for Unlawful Conduct after punching another student at Riverton High School. *A 20-year-old Shoshoni male* was cited for Driving While Under Suspension. *Desirea Writingbird*, 35, Riverton, Shoplifting. Writingbird tried to flee the Safeway Store without paying for a cart loaded with beef steaks valued at $460. *John Brown*, 50, Ethete, Public Intoxication and two Failure to Appear warrants *Derek Gould*, 34, of Arapahoe, Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony DUI (.17% BAC) and on a Contempt of Court warrant. *Steven Oldman*, 25, Ethete, Public Intoxication *Calls:* *There were 36 calls for service on Wednesday.* A civil matter was reported when an 18-year-old male who had been staying at the Good Samaritan Shelter was asked to leave after 30 days for not getting a job. Over $1,000 in damage was reported in a crash between a tan 1990 Oldsmobile and an orange 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse that was reported at Riverton High School at 3:09 p.m. A generator valued at $300 was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Big Horn Avenue. A 17-year-old youth was reported missing from the Wind River Job Corps Center Site. The youth was believed to have gone to the Wind River Reservation. The BIA Wind River Police were advised of the Attempt to Locate. Police contacted a male driver who was reported to have a child not secured in a car seat in his vehicle. The man was allegedly changing the child’s diaper and had taken the child out of the car seat. No action was taken. *There were 21 calls for service on Thursday.* A reported stolen television set turned out to be a civil and not a law enforcement matter. No action was taken. A wallet found in town containing $80 was turned in to the RPD. The owner was contacted and retrieved his wallet. The daughter of an 85-year-old Riverton woman called saying that she hadn’t been able to contact her mother for the past three days. When contacted by an officer, the woman allegedly said that she was fine but that she didn’t want to speak to her kids. *Lander Police Department* *Arrests/Citations:* None. *Calls:* A possible aggravated assault at a location on Main Street reported at 11:25 a.m. is under investigation. Police were called about a possible drunken driver on the 400 block of Main Street at 6 p.m. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. At 11:04 p.m., police assisted in contacting the owner of a Main Street building where candle was found left burning without supervision. *Fremont County Sheriff's Office* *Arrests:* *Aaron Bigknife*, 49, Fort Washakie, two Probation Revocation warrants *Luke Tilghman*, 33, Riverton, Albany County Warrant. *Norman Ybarra*, 26, Riverton, Probation Revocation. *Calls:* At 8:42 a.m., a caller on Baldwin Creek Road reported a storage unit was broken into. At 10:38 a.m., a person south of Riverton reported hearing multiple rifle shots. Deputies found nothing out of the ordinary. At 11:13 a.m., a caller on Zuber Road reported possible mail theft. Multiple piece of important mail never made it to the caller. A possible shoplifting was reported at the Fast Lane in Shoshoni. It was turned over to the Shoshoni Police. Deputies also handled multiple calls about loud music and fighting intoxicated individuals. *Fremont County Ambulance* EMS crews responded to nine calls for service on Thursday. #county10 #news
