Wind River Reservation Homes to get smoke detectors

The American Red Cross of Wyoming will be installing free smoke alarms on the Wind River Indian Reservation on January 18, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Red Cross volunteers and Tribal Partner volunteers will install the alarms as part of a nationwide initiative that aims to reduce the number of fire deaths and injuries in the U.S. by 25 percent within five years. Volunteer installers are needed to assist in making sure all homes have a working smoke alarm and have a preparedness plan in case of a home fire. To volunteer, and to schedule an installation, contact Lucas Murphy at (307) 439-4167 or email lucas.murphy2@redcross.org. *Feature Photo: A Red Cross volunteer installed a smoke alarm at a home in a previous initiative.
