Local sculptor's trailer of bronze sculptures stolen in Florida

The Lander artist community today is abuzz about the theft of a local sculptor's bulk of work that was destined for an art show this coming week in Florida. Ben Foster Bronze reported 45 stolen sculptures were worth over $200,000 dollars. The thief, or thieves, took an enclosed trailer containing the artwork from a storage facility in Naples. According to Foster's website, he had planned to show, and sell, the art during the months of January, February and March at shows in Estero, Bonita Springs, Sarasota, Boca Raton, and Naples, Florida. Foster told a Florida television station that the theft involved 23 years of his work. The theft was initially reported here . *Feature Photo: Ben Foster with an installation of his in Joplin, MO, featuring a six-foot tall Airedale.
