Historic Lander radio tower felled this morning

Today the tallest fixture in Lander came down with a crash in the snow. Fremont Broadcasting's old 220-foot radio tower was demolished. According to KDLY's Glenn Lemons, the KOVE tower was erected in 1947 and the Governor of the time came to turn it on. This old tower's replacement is 180 feet tall and became operational in March 2015; it meets modern technological needs that the old tower couldn't. The new tower is located on radio station's property on the northwest side of Lander adjacent to where the old one stood. Check out a slow motion video of the tower falling here . #county10 #news
