'People helping people' through the Cares Program

(Fremont County, Wyo.) - If there's one thing people love about our little community... is the abundance of local support during times of crisis and hardship. Our town is lucky to have citizens and local businesses who rally to support the health of the community and its residents. Atlantic City Federal Credit Union strives to do just that. Through their Cares Program and other generous contributions they are building a presence in the community. Recently, The Mountain West Credit Union Association recognized ACFCU as one of the top two for their Community Impact Award; making Atlantic City Federal Credit Union the first Wyoming credit union to ever be selected as a top finalist. The City of Lander remembers the tragic fire at the Lander Community Center in 2012. The first of the major contributors, was ACFCU. "Seeing everybody back and using the Community Center again is fantastic, it makes us whole again," says Lander City Councilman, Dick Hudson in the video below. They selected 3 local programs: the Lander Back Pack Program, Riverton Food for Break and the Chance Phelps Foundation. Charlie Smith, ACFCU Board Chair, says, "Our Cares Program is our way of giving back to our community, and back especially to people in need." As part of the Cares Program, ACFCU held a 4 month long promotion. Each time a member took out an Auto Loan, a donation was made to a non-profit of the member's choice. Over 30 non-profit organizations were helped by this initiative, with a total contribution of $20,000.00 made to various local non-profits. Watch this video to learn more about the Cares Program and its success: "The Cares Program has shown us our work is not done, and has inspired us to find additional ways to help Fremont County," says Brian Rohrbacher, CEO & President of ACFCU. Heading into 2016, ACFCU is already planning the new year's Cares Program. #county10 #news #sponsored #acfcu
