Central men split weekend games, Rustler women win two; Pokes upset UNLV

The Central Wyoming College basketball teams were on the road this past weekend in Montana. The men won at Little Bighorn College at Crow Agency, as did the women, but the women emerged victorious over Miles College in Miles City while the men lost that game. Here are the scores and highlights: *Friday:* *Women* "We had five kids in double digits and played well defensively," said women's coach Serol Stauffenberg after the Rustlers win Friday at Crow Agency. "LBH only had six players dressed so they had a difficult time. LBH played hard, but they were just undermanned. " Central Women 104, Little Bighorn College 25 Taij Criss-Felton was high scorer for the Ruslters with 20; Kyla Paulus scored 19, Olivia Ellis put in 15 and Olivia Thompson and Heather Townsend had 10 points each. Ten Rustlers scored in the game. Little Big Horn's top scorer was Chelsea Pretty Paint with 9. *Men* The Ruslters (8-10) defeated Little Bighorn College 98 to 59. Coach Pat Rafferty was not available for comment afterwards. High scorer for Central was Jordan Rohan with 19. Also in double figures were Marcus Nolan, 18; Nicholas Anderson 17, Justice Augmon, 16; and Brannon Cresanto 14 Little Big Horn leading scorer was Hafeez Abdul with 25. *Saturday* *Women* "A great road win for us," Stauffenberg said. "We jumped to an early lead with the help of our defense. And it was our defense that got key stops at the end that led to victory." The win moved the team's record to 9-6. Central 53, Miles College 50 Three players hit double figures for the Rustlers, they were Kyla Paulus with 19; Olivia Elliss, 17,and Olivia Thompson, 10. *Men:* The Rustlers were defeated the Pioneers by a count of 77 to 63. Leading scorers for Central were Nicholas Anderson with 19 and Marcus Nolan with 15. The Rustlers only his one third of the field goal attempts, 21 of 66 and 35 percent of their three-point attempts where they went 12 od 34. Top scorer for Miles College was Cole Ashby with 26 points. *Up Next:* The Rustler teams will host Gillette College for games in Riverton Thursday at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. On Saturday the men and women will face the Thunderbirds in Casper with games at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. at Swede Erickson T-Bird Gym. *Wyoming Cowboys* The Cowgirls dropped a game in Las Vegas to UNLV Saturday 66 go 37 while the men, playing at the Double-A in Laramie, topped the Rebels 59-57. The Cowgirls record is now 9-5 overall and 2-2 in the MW. The Cowboys moved their record to 9-8 overall and 2-2 in the MW. #county10 #news
