Daisy Cleaners is coming back; County to have a dry cleaning business again

An old friend is coming back. Phil and Marilyn LaVoie are resurrecting Daisy Cleaners to fill the void when American Dry Cleaners closed in both Lander and Riverton at the end of December. That action left the county without a dry cleaning business. LaVoie told this morning that his new location will be in the strip mall at 1455 North Federal, Space G. That's just east of the Berry Patch. "My wife and I have 25 years experience in the business and we both decided to fill the void and re-open to serve the county," he said. "Daisy Cleaners reopening is set for February 1st." Lavoie operated Daisy Cleaners from several Riverton locations in the past, including 422 Main Street and most recently on East Washington at South Third where his building has now been turned in the CATS Children's Museum. LaVoie said more information about the re-opening of the cleaners would be announced closer to the February 1st date. The announcement by the LaVoie's is being hailed as good news for the county community. "I had a person come in just yesterday very concerned about the lack of that kind of service," said Lander Chamber of Commerce Associate Director Carol King. *Feature Photo: This space, "G", is the new location for Daisy Cleaners when it plans to reopen in February as the county's only dry cleaners.
