Job Corps adds to its Management Team

The Wind River Job Corps Center in Riverton today announced the hiring of two new staff members. Marty Kenison is the new deputy director and Christa Stream will serve as the business & community liaison and outreach/admissions and career transition services coordinator. • Kenison comes to Riverton with more than ten years of experience in Job Corps. He most recently worked as the director of career technical training for Management & Training Corporation (MTC) which operates the Wind River center. “I’m excited to be here,” he said. “I spent several months in Riverton last year helping the center prepare for the grand opening, so I’m very familiar with the area and the wonderful people who make Riverton such a great place to work and live.” • Stream will develop and strengthen relationships within the community including with state, county, and city leaders as well as with the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes and many others. As coordinator of outreach/admissions and career transition services, she will coordinate the recruitment and placement of students. Stream and her family moved from Washington State where she worked in sales and recruiting. “We want to be a strong community asset,” she said. “Our students will participate in many service projects in the community and at the same time develop necessary skills to be successful in the job market after they graduate.” The center has established a Community Relations Council, a group that is scheduled to meet at least four times a year to share initiatives, program updates and positive developments at the center. The next meeting of the CRC is this Thursday morning at 10 a.m. To learn more call Stream at: 307-857-9681 or *Feature Photo: Christa Stream and Marty Kenison.
