LVHS Ski Team offering free Nordic clinics

The Lander Valley High School Nordic ski team is again offering free cross-country ski clinics for the public. These clinics are designed for beginners to intermediate skiers, for all ages, in both classic and skate technique. The clinics are also a great opportunity for experienced skiers to get pointers for improving technique. The first session is this Saturday, January 23 from 10 – 11:30 am at the Lander Golf course. “This is a great opportunity for our high school athletes to give back to the community,” said Emily Tilton, coach of the team. “We welcome the public to come and try skiing for the first time, or if you are experienced, come to learn tips and techniques to ski faster and more efficiently.” Skis can be rented at Gannett Peak Sports and they are open on Friday until 6 pm. Refreshments will be available and donations are welcome. Another clinic is scheduled on February 6th from 10 – 11:30 am at either the Lander Golf Course or Beaver Creek ski area, depending upon conditions.
