BREAKING: Sen. Bebout announces he is cancer free

State Sen. Eli Bebout of Riverton announced today that according to his most recent test, he is cancer free. The Republican began treatment for esophageal cancer last September, and the treatment has been successful. Bebout said he underwent six weeks of oncology treatments at Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, which was followed by three months of recuperation at home. The cancer was localized to his throat, and while he is still rebuilding his stamina, he expects to go forward "full steam ahead." “I look forward to serving my Fremont County constituents in this critical budget session,” said Bebout, “and fortunately, I have been able to participate in our interim committee meetings and conference calls during this period.” Bebout will be busy stepping back into service as his legislative responsibilities include serving as Senate Majority Floor Leader, a member of the Management Council and the Capitol Oversight Committees, Co-Chair of the State Facilities Tax Force, and Chairman of the Select Federal Natural Resource Management Committee. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Energy Council, on the Commission for the Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute and on the Energy Producing States Coalition. He also expressed his gratitude to all friends and neighbors who sent cards, prayers and good wishes through his treatment and recuperation. #county10 #news
