Central swept by Gillette College on the road

The Central Wyoming College Rustlers dropped two games on the road Saturday night at Gillette College. The woman lost 63-44 while the men were edged 86-80. "I can't complain a bit about our defensive effort," said Women's Coach Serol Stauffenbrg. "We continue to work hard on that end of the floor. We are still struggling offensively. Not making shots coupled with too many turnovers makes it hard to win. " Jess Underberg was the Rustlers leading scorer with 14 while Kyla Paulus was the only other player in double figures with 11. The Rustlers trailed at halftime by only six points, 23-17, but were outscored in the second half 40 to 27. Taylor Deaton was the Pronghorn leading scorer with 16 points. In the men's game, the score was close throughout with Gillette holding a two point edge at half-time 35-33. Nicholas Anderson lead CWC and was the games top scorer with 26 points. Brannon Creasnto added 16 and Devon Brown scored 10. The Rustlers lost the rebounding effort with the Pronghorn gathering up 48 caroms while the Rustlers had 31.
