Christmas in February for Wind River Third Graders

Feature Photo: Third Grade Students were dressed in pajamas and had weird hair for the start of Service Week at the Wind River School at Pavillion. The students had their photo taken with their new dictionaries, presented to them by the Rotary Club of Lander. (Pitchengine Communities) (Pavillion, Wyo.) - The two sections of third-grade students at Wind River Elementary School in Pavillion were bubbling with excitement just before school let out today. No, not because of the end of the school day, but because of a gift each of them received from the Rotary Club of Lander. Each year, the Rotary Club of Lander distributes dictionaries to elementary school students throughout the Western side of Fremont County. The Riverton Rotary does the same on the Eastern side. The Student's Dictionaries are for the children to keep and use in their studies. The dictionary distribution is aligned with one of Rotary's main initiatives, Literacy. As soon as the dictionaries were handed out, the children's voices rang out in a cacophony of exclamations: "The Planets; Sign Language; The Presidents; Wyoming; Braille" and such as the kids looked through the various sections of the dictionary, which also included maps and charts. The dictionaries will be kept in the student's desks at school and at the end of the school year they can take them home. *Pictured below are some of the crazy hair and pajamas worn by students today (Pitchengine Communities) * [image: Inline image 1] [image: Inline image 2] [image: Inline image 3] [image: Inline image 4] [image: Inline image 5] [image: Inline image 6] #county10 #news
