James “Jim” E. Eager

A Memorial Service for James “Jim” E. Eager, 82, who died Monday, February 15, 2016, at the Help for Health Hospice Home. Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Echo Klaproth officiating. Cremation has taken place. Jim was born March 9, 1933, in Shawnee, Oklahoma son of Hubert E. and Hazel M. (Ivey) Eager. [image: Inline image 1] He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma University in Weatherford, OK and his Master’s Degree from Northern Colorado University in Greeley, CO. On May 20, 1951, he married Roberta Imogene “Imy” DeSpain in Hinton, OK. In 1955, Jim began his teaching career. He taught school in Kansas, Colorado and Wyoming and also did a lot of educational consulting. After he and Imy retired from teaching, they started an award making business called Sports Enterprises in Laramie until they sold it in 1992. They then became snowbirds living in Yuma, AZ during the winter months and Riverton during the winters before finally settling in Riverton year round. Jim enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hiking, camping, horse-back riding and small game hunting. Jim’s favorite sport was swimming, which made it a great time when he and Imy were in charge of running swimming pools. Survivors include his wife, Imy of Riverton, son, James D. “Dan” Eager and his wife, Jaime of Gillette, WY; daughters, Jeanie and her husband, Mitch Cottenoir, Christi and her husband, Kenton Ogg, and Amy Moe all of Riverton; sister, Martha Rhoades of Ardmore, OK; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and his foster son, Rusty Owens and his wife Katrina of TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Hubert E. Eager, Jr., and sister, Helen Redding. Memorials may be made to the Help for Health Hospice Home in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W.
