The Cowboy hats went flying in Dubois, Crowheart

(Riverton, Wyo.) - The peak wind gusts from the clipper system that raced through the area over the past two days resulted in strong blows in the Upper Country. Strong enough to blow a Stetson's off of a Cowboy's head. The National Weather Service Forecast Office at Riverton Regional Airport reported a 62 mph gust at Dubois and a 59 mph gust at Crowheart. South Pass recorded a 57 mph gust and Fort Washakie had one at 56 mph. Riverton Regional Airport had a gust at 51 mph, compared to a 47 mph gust at Lander's Hunt Field Airport. Meanwhile, most of the snow that fell in association with the big blows came down in the Wind River Range with Brooks Lake receiving 8.1 inches and the Burroughs Creek Snotel getting six inches.
