Tribal License Plate bill passed second reading today

(LSO / Pitchengine Communities) * (Cheyenne, Wyo.) - The bill sponsored by the Select Committee on Tribal Relations to provide for Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho special motor vehicle license plates passed the House today on a vote of 43-16-1. State Representative Jim Allen reported the news shortly after the vote. As written, the fee for the special license plates is $70 and the money will go to the University of Wyoming for the Chief Washakie and Northern Arapaho scholarship endowment funds, respectively. The design of the plates will be made by the Wyoming Department of Transportation in consultation with each Tribe. The measure, HB 09, goes now to the Senate.
