Bighorn Sheep captured for medical exam today on Reservation

(Michael Chingman / Pitchengine Communities) * (Fort Washakie, Wyo.) - The Tribal Fish and Game and Wyoming Game and Fish Department personnel participated in a bighorn sheep capture program this morning to check on the health of the animals. Eastern Shoshone Business Council Member Michael Chingman attended the event and reported that the six ewes and two rams caught and airlifted by helicopter to the inspection site were all healthy and that the ewes were pregnant. "We are truly blessed people to have these beautiful creations roaming our lands." Chingman said the helicopter pilot was from New Zealand, who marveled at the beauty of the Wind River Range. "It was an honor to be there as a councilman," he said. "We are glad that we are thinking of our wildlife to be replenishing and prospering."
