Wind River High's Spirit Week: Did they meet their goal?

(Pitchengine Communities) * (Pavillion, Wyo.) - Two weeks ago, Wind River High School hosted its 7th annual Service Week with a goal to raise $10,000 for a local student dealing with a debilitating seizure disorder. The student, Kaiden Burk, a Wind River Wrestling team member, has already endured several brain surgeries in an effort to quell the seizures. Many different fund raising events were held, including a dodge ball tournament, roller skating at Pavillion's rec center, a Trivia Night and more, at least one a day, and on the final day, a big bake sale, silent auction and an auction during and at half-time of the basketball game versus Lyman. (Pitchengine Communities) * At half-time of this past week's Cougar basketball game with Big Piney, Burke and his family came out to center court and the school revealed the result of the week-long effort. They met the goal. They also surpassed the goal. The community raised a total of $11,063.63 for the family. The effort resulted in prolonged applause and cheers and a greeting to Kaden and his family from the Cougar basketball team and school officials. #county10 #news
