Frontier Academy graduate helped his teacher in an emergency

(Riverton, Wyo.) - A highlight of the Riverton School Board meeting Tuesday night was the graduation for James Finley from the Frontier Academy. "The best time of the school year is graduation and having and individual who stuck with it and did it is important. Good for you," said Chairman Carl Manning, who presented Finley with his diploma (above). "James has a great sense of humor and brings everyone else up, even when he may be down. This year he's volunteered setting up holiday events at the grade schools, he's sat with students who didn't have family there, he's helped my wife in the Behavior Resource Room with her students, and two weeks ago he called 911 for me and carried me out to the ambulance," said Andrew Coleman, one of the Academy's teachers. With a thumbs up, the nearly full gallery at the meeting stood up and gave James a standing ovation. "At the beginning of Frontier Academy we had a lot of naysayers, now, look at this," exclaimed Lorenzo Chouinard.
