DECA Conference drew two dozen kids from Riverton

(Casper, Wyo.) - Two hundred students from around Wyoming traveled to Casper this week for the 4A DECA State Conference, including two dozen students from Riverton High School Nine schools brought their students to compete at the Parkway Plaza in fifty different business/marketing competitions. Kelly Walsh High School business instructor, Jill Thompson, reported that volunteers from the community and business professionals stepped in to judge the students performances and presentations. The students will be competing for a chance to move to the International tournament in Nashville, TN in April. "The students are competing in individual and team events where they present their presentations and papers to professionals in the business field. The students compete in various categories including accounting, business finance, hotel and lodging management, business services, human resources, business law and ethics, marketing communications, and more," said Thompson.
