Fremont County's Firefighter of the Year is ...

(Pitchengine Communities) * (Riverton, Wyo.) - The Fremont County Fire Protection District held its annual Banquet on February 13th. There were 163 people in attendance. Chief Craig Haslam noted that the District responded to 416 Incidents. Battalions were paged 888 times. FCFPD Volunteers gave over 15,200 hours of service in training, meetings, public events, and emergency incidents to Fremont County residents and our guests. FCFPD also responded to 35 Incidents in Wyoming and throughout the West to provide assistance to our neighbors experiencing major wildland fire incidents. We traveled to Idaho, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. Fremont County Fire Protection District currently has 181 Members with a combined 2,487 years of experience. Claudeen Bisbee had put in 38 years of Service. FCFPD recognized Fremont County Firewise, Fremont County Emergency Management, Wind River Fire Prevention Council, and Devon Energy for the support and assistance with the purchase of a Fire Prevention Trailer. FCFPD recognized the Town of Hudson for their support by donating land for the construction of the new fire station in Hudson. FCFPD presented Ashley Sawtelle with the Award of Merit for her service rendered to Deputy Chief Speed Hartbank and the Hartbank family while he was in the hospital in Denver, FCFPD recognized Fremont County Sheriff’s Deputy Donavon Detimore for his Act of Valor on September 10, 2015 while assisting Deputy Chief Speed Hartbank when he was injured. FCFPD recognized Deputy Chief Dan Oakley for his Act of Valor on September 10, 2015 while rendering assistance to Deputy Chief Speed Hartbank when he was injured. FCFPD Chief Craig Haslam presented Division Chief Ron Wempen with the 2015 Chief’s Award for his outstanding service and dedication to the District and its patrons. and, last but not least: FCFPD presented the *2015 **Firefighter of the Year Award *to Pat White of Lander Rural Battalion 3 for his service and dedication to the District and its patrons. #county10 #news
