(Lander, Wyo.) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol has identified 52-year-old Reva K. SunRhodes of Riverton as the pedestrian who sustained fatal injuries after being struck by a pickup truck while she was walking on Wyoming Highway 789 north of Lander on March 9th. The crash occurred at 11:30 p.m. near mile post 83.5 approximately 1.5 miles north of Lander. SunRhodes was walking in the dark on a four-lane section of the highway in the far right lane of traffic on the northbound side of WY 789, according to the WHP report of the incident. SunRhodes was wearing dark clothing. A northbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 29-year-old Danielle Cozzens of Lander, struck SunRhodes as she was walking in the traffic lane in the dark. Sunrhodes sustained fatal injuries on scene. Cozzens and three passengers in the truck were uninjured. The dark clothing while walking in traffic at night and suspected alcohol use by SunRhodes are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash that marked the 10th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. This is compared to 18 fatalities in the same time period in 2015. #county10 #news
