Riverton's Chamber Award Recipients are...

(Riverton, Wyo.) - The Riverton Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of its annual community awards which will be presented this Friday night. Recipients are: *Lifetime Service-James Gores*. The principal of James Gores and Associates Civil Engineers, Jim has been a stalwart in the community over the past 25 years. A recipient of the Wyoming 2015 Engineer of the Year Award, his firm's projects are too numerous to mention, but include such major projects as the Riverton and Lander Main Street Reconstructions, the Burma Road Realignment, the reconstruction of Lyons Valley Road, and helping to develop a strong airport infrastructure in Riverton, to mention only a few. Gores is also very active in community events. *Citizen of the year - Nance Shelsta with CATS*. Shelsta was the driving force behind the creation and opening of the Center for Art, Technology and Science (CATS).The children's museum opened in September of 2014 after culminating Shelta's 14 year-long dream. In its first year, the museum attracted over 9,000 visitors from 22 states and three foreign countries. *Community Service - Amy Stockton The Stock Doc*. The Stock Doc is being saluted for its contributions to the Paws For Life Animal Shelter, a no-kill facility. The Veterinary clinic provides discounted professional services to the shelter for animals waiting for adoption, including spay, neuter, vaccinations and treatment as needed. With The Stock Doc's assistance, the shelter is able to make sure all the animals in its care are healthy when adopted out to their forever homes. *Business of the year* *- The Ranger*. The Ranger nominated itself for its contribution of over $100,000 in advertising space for community events and non-profits and for initiating a Shop Local campaign this year. It noted that its long-running Student of the Week Scholarship Program contributed $10,000 in scholarships this year. The business employs 50 people. *Industrial Achievement - Process Electric/Process Systems*. Scott Schneider and his team are being recognized for numerous projects that allowed customers to access energy incentives for updates of commercial and residential lighting and electrical systems, thereby increasing energy efficiency, cost savings and increasing property values. The nominators said both business and residential customers benefited from the company's work. Additionally, the firm was noted as being a strong supporter of many community family events.
