There's still water up there, NRCS reports

(Casper, Wyo.) - The snowpack across the state dropped three percent this past week to 81 percent of the median, according to the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service. "Last year we dropped from 96 to 91 percent during this same week. Last year we were at 91 percent, 136 percent in 2014 and 84 percent of median in 2013.," reported Lee Hackleman, Water Supply Specialist for the NRCS. "Looking at the map the NE corner of the state is the lowest." The Wind River Basin snow water equivalent dropped one point from last week from 79 to 78 percent of the median. The Sweetwater River drainage also dropped one point to 68 percent. The Big Horn Basin snowpack remained the same at 72 percent of the median.
