Dispatch: Arrests; Tobacco Sting nabs two clerks; Rash of light bar thefts reported; Meth found in motel room

Here is Wednesday's recap of law enforcement activity around the county. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. *Fremont County Sheriff's Office* *Arrests:* *Derek Balzly*, 36, Lander, Failure to Appear. *Robert Cornelio*, 20, Riverton, Failure to Appear and Probation Revocation. *Christopher Hardcastle*, 34, Riverton, Failure to Appear and two Probation Revocations. *Shadow Kummer*, 25, Riverton, Probation Revocation and Contempt of Court. *John Patton*, 28, Dubois, Contempt of Court. *Calls*: A woman in Pavillion on Tuesday morning reported that her ex-mother-in-law came to the house and then pushed through the door. Deputies are in the midst of an active child abuse situation. Additional information was not released. Threats between subjects outside of Riverton from the day before was reported on Tuesday afternoon. A woman's daughter was getting harassing voicemails, and the report to law enforcement came in after 9 p.m. on Tuesday. At 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, a caller outside of Riverton reported hearing whispered voices under her bedroom window. Her dog reportedly heard the voices too. Deputies searched the area and found no one. *Lander Police Department* *Arrests:* *A 49-year-old Lander man* and a* 21-year-old Lander man *cited for selling tobacco to minors. Clerks at 10 of 12 local businesses passed compliance checks regarding selling tobacco to minors. Clerks at the Maverik Country Store and Safeway Gas Station were cited for selling to minors. Clerks and establishments that passed the checks were: Safeway, Maverick Lounge, Mr. D's, Mr. D's Liquor Store, Melody Liquors, Loaf N Jug, One Stop Market, Silver Spur Lanes and B&B Lounge. *Calls:* On Tuesday afternoon, police checked a home that the door had been open on for a couple days. No one was around, and officers shut the door. Police also assisted Wyoming Game & Fish with removing an injured deer from Highway 789 early Wednesday morning. *Riverton Police Department* *Arrests/Citations* *Leandra Eagle*, 30, Riverton, Public Intoxication *Clowry Means*, 49, St. Stephens, Public Intoxicated *Andrea Thayer*, 37, Ethete, Contempt of Court *Aaron Lujan*, 36, St. Stephens, on a Failure to Appear warrant and *a 47-year-old female* from St. Stephens was cited and released on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine. A police report said “many” syringes with meth residue were found in her purse after a traffic stop. The Syringes were confiscated. *Angel Carpenter*, 19-year-old female of Riverton on a Contempt of Court warrant. *Tyrone Lovejoy*, 26*, *Riverton, on a Probation Revocation *Calls:* *There were 37 calls for service* Police were called to the emergency room where a female had been taken by an ambulance. The woman was assaulted, however she failed to cooperate with officers. No action was taken. A report of a stolen 1992 green Buick was reported at 7:57 a.m. The vehicle was found three houses away on the 100 block of East Lincoln. The owner also said her wallet was missing from the vehicle. Four tires on a blue 2007 Chevrolet Impala were found slashed with a two-inch-long gash in each tire in the 1400 block of West Park. Damage was over $1,000. A pop-up camper trailer that had last been licensed in 2007 ended up in the middle of West Monroe, possibly by the wind. It was taken to the Wind River Towing yard. A 30 inch LED light bar valued at $180 was taken off of a green flatbed Chevy truck from the 800 block of West Monroe. It was the sixth or seventh report of a stolen light bar in the past couple weeks. The Wind River Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center reported the money was missing from several employees. Police are investigating. A two-vehicle crash was reported in the 900 block of Westridge between a red 1999 Ford Ranger and a black 2015 Ford F-350 at 10:55 a.m. The owner of the Jack Pine Motel complained to police that a man who had rented a room there had been arrested and his room was not paid for. He wanted the police to pay for the room. A police report indicated it was a civil and not a law enforcement matter. A woman called police to report that she found several blouses in her yard with the sales tags still attached in the 300 block of North 5th East. A neighbor claimed the clothing, saying the blouses had been taken from her home. While cleaning a room at the Comfort Inn, a number of syringes were found. They were disposed of. A 60-year-old woman was found deceased in her home in the 1400 block of Maple Street on a welfare check. The coroner’s office was notified. A “considerable amount” of methamphetamine was found in a room at the Tomahawk Motel on East Main Street along with a personal amount of marijuana. There have been no arrests as of yet and no one came forward to claim the drugs. Charges are pending. The amount of meth was believed to be about three grams. A light bar was reported stolen off of a green and gold 1998 Chevrolet Truck. The light bar was valued at $200. The theft occurred in the 1000 block of East Washington. The rash of light bar thefts continues. A stabbing was reported early Wednesday morning. One person was transported to the emergency room after the 2:30 a.m. incident was reported. The injuries were not life-threatening. The incident is under investigation. *Fire Departments* Firefighters responded to a grass fire near Ethete, a wreck in Riverton and a small fire in Arapahoe.
