ATF hosting public meeting about Roberts Mission fire

Investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are holding a community meeting tomorrow afternoon to inform everyone about last week's Roberts Mission fire . The meeting will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Joint Business Council chambers at the Joint Tribal Building in Fort Washakie. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The building was part of a historic mission that was founded in 1889 and was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1973. About 15 special agents and experts with the National Response Team, as well as agents from the Denver Field Division and Cheyenne Field Office, were activated at the request of local authorities to jointly investigate the fire. Little has been released about the investigation into the fire so far. While at the site, certified fire investigators and other experts are working with local investigators to sift through debris, reconstruct the scene, collect evidence and provide cause and origin to the Fremont Country Fire Protection District, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Wyoming State Fire Marshall and the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigations in support of their investigation. #county10 #news
