Junior Rifle and Pistol Club scored well in weekend meet

(LJRPC / Pitchengine Communities) * (Lander, Wyo.) - This past weekend, March 19th & 20th, the Lander Junior Rifle & Pistol Club hosted the Wyoming NRA Junior Indoor Sectional at Racy Clark Indoor range in Lander. The two-day match included shooters from Cheyenne, Riverton and Lander competing in 3-position small bore, 4-position small bore, 3-position air rifle, and international air rifle(standing only). In the 3 Position Small bore event, Ashley Swearingen of Cheyenne took first with a score of 540 (out of 600), Flint Pokorny, Lander, 2nd with a 529 and Kyle Carper, Riverton, 3rd with a 502. In the team event, the Lander Junior Rifle & Pistol Club took first over Laramie County 4H Shooters with a score of 1885 to 1863. In the 4 Position Small bore, the winner was Flint Pokorny with a score of 389 (400), and Kyle Carper in 2nd with a 386. In 3 Position Air Rifle, precision category, Flint Pokorny again took first place with a score of 573 (600), Kyle Carper 2nd with a 571, and Sarah Dey, Cheyenne, 3rd with a 546. The 3 Position Air Rifle, sporter category, was won by Micaiah Dolence of Lander with a score of 444. The International-style Air Rifle (40 shots standing) was won by Ashley Swearingen with a 389 (400), 2nd place was Kyle Carper at 362, and 3rd was Flint Pokorny with a 361. As seen by the scores, the matches were very competitive and very close. The Lander Junior Rifle & Pistol Club would like to thank all the competitors for a great match!
