An police officer at Central Wyoming College saw a man running across the lawns at the College Hill Apartments and intercepted him while other officers responded to the apartment. Tyle Potts, 30, of Riverton, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony child abuse and domestic violence. According to a police report, Potts became upset that his six-year-old was allegedly dancing in hallway of their apartment complex. Potts allegedly grabbed the boy by the throat and slammed him to the floor. When the boy's mother came to his aid, Potts allegedly grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into a wall, cratering the sheet rock and leaving a hole in the wall. Potts then allegedly began hitting her with his closed fists before grabbing a six-to-seven-inch long knife, holding it to her throat, and he allegedly threatened to kill her with it if she called for help. Police found clumps of black hair on the floor under where the female victim's head had impacted the wall. Potts allegedly took off out the back door. When police arrived, they found the boy with red marks and bruising on his throat. The female victim had a bruised and swollen facial cheek with abrasions and bruises on her left arm. Both the child and mother were taken to the emergency room to be checked out. #county 10 #news
