Here it comes: Rain and Snow falling on South Pass

(Lander, Wyo.) - The snow has begun to fall on South Pass, as evidenced in this WYDOT Web Cam shot from the Louis Lake Parking Area on WYO 28. According to the National Weather Service, most areas east of the Divide will have rain showers, before the rain changes to snow overnight Monday into early Tuesday morning. Areas of heavy snow will be possible in the central basins and mountains. The snow will continue Tuesday into Wednesday morning, with the focus of the heavy snow shifting to Natrona County Tuesday night into Wednesday. The latest update from the NWS Forecast Office in Riverton indicated the Wind River Basin could receive from 12 to 20 inches of snow from this storm with the Lander foothills receiving from 18 to 24 inches.
