Dispatch: Illegal camping results in arrest; 1 DUI in Lander

(Fremont County, Wyo.) - Here is Wednesday's recap of law enforcement activity around the county. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. *Fremont County Sheriff's Office* *Arrests:* Gilmer Cabello, 32, Hayward, Calif., Theft of Services and Littering. Cabello was arrested after he reportedly set up a tent on private property on the edge of Riverton. *Calls:* Deputies took multiple reports around the county of dogs at large; one that was reportedly abandoned was taken to PAWS. A report of property destruction in Dubois is under investigation. At 5:29 p.m., a caller outside of Lander reported that there were three dogs who had been left outside in the snow all day. The dogs were eventually moved inside. *Lander Police Department* *Arrests:* *Donald Smith*, 52, Riverton, FCSO Warrant. *Mikal Thayer*, 22, Lander, Driving Under the Influence. He was arrested after he allegedly sped out from an alley on Buena Vista Drive and ended up on the golf course. *Calls:* At 8:44 a.m., a caller on Buena Vista Drive reported that someone stole license plates off a vehicle. Police were unable to make contact with the subject for follow-up. A hit and run was reported on Tuesday morning. It was unknown whether the damage occurred to the vehicle while in Lander or earlier when it was in Green River. At 10:35 a.m., a caller on South Ninth reported that someone broke out a rear window on a vehicle. Police were unable to determine how the window was broken. At 8:05 p.m., police were called to a local bar for a fight between five people. They eventually all left the bar. At 6:32 a.m. on Wednesday, a vehicle slid off the road and knocked over a small street light in the area of Fifth and Main Street. There was more than $1,000 in damage. No citations were issued. *Riverton Police Department* RPD call details and arrests were not immediately available. *Fremont County Ambulance* EMS Crews responded to 13 calls for service Tuesday into Wednesday. *Fire Departments* Firefighters across the county responded to 10 calls for service, most of which were fire alarms and downed wires.
