Roads Closed - No New Mail coming

*"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" - An inscription on the James Farley Post Office in New York City, referring to the courier service of the ancient Persian Empire. * (Riverton, Wyo.) - Well, almost. How about closed roads making mail delivery impossible. The closures westbound from Casper on Highway 20-26 and Northbound from Rawlins on 287-789 will mean mostly no new mail is coming into Fremont and Hot Springs Counties today. "Some of the mail to the 825 zip code areas got through but the majority will be delivered once the roads re-open," said USPS Communications Director David Rupert in Denver A spokesman at the Riverton Post Office confirmed that the trucks can't get through this morning so they are sorting the mail they have and handling only local mail. When the roads reopen, the trucks can bring in more mail, but it's too late for delivery today. The Thermopolis Post Office also confirmed no new mail is coming in today due to the road closures in Fremont County. *Feature Photo: A USPS delivery truck is chained up.
