BREAKING: Riverton Council Approves Airline Contract; Flights to commence July 1st

(Riverton, Wyo.) - The Riverton City Council tonight approved an agreement to enter into a contract with Key Lime Air doing business as the Denver Air Connection (DAC) to provide regular and reliable commercial passenger jet service to Riverton Regional Airport. The vote was 6-1 with only Martin Canaan voting no. The Riverton flights will be tied into Sheridan, which DAC began serving late last year. The Riverton flights will begin Jully 1st. Based on the airlines 98.6 percent on-time rate since they began service in Sheridan last November, city officials are confident the agreement will lead to reliable air service once again in Riverton beginning July 1st. It is hoped that the 26,000 passengers now flying out of Fremont County will return to flying from Riverton Regional Airport. As part of the program, there will be a $100,000 marketing effort that will begin this spring to promote the service and begin selling tickets. Read more background here . #county10 #news
