At 8:46 a.m. on Thursday, deputies were called to Cedar Road in the Union
Pass area for a man found unresponsive in the Road. When law enforcement
and EMS arrived, the man was deceased. According to radio traffic yesterday
morning and sources close to the situation, the man was found with a
gunshot wound to the neck.
"Due to details I cannot release at this point, we have reason to believe
the man's death is suspicious in nature; the investigation is ongoing and
in full momentum as of yesterday morning," Fremont County Undersheriff Ryan
Lee said in a statement Friday morning.
The Cedar Road area on Union Pass is within a large subdivision which is
comprised of Dubois residents as well as vacation homes that are not
constantly occupied. Several investigators and Deputy Sheriffs will be in
the area today speaking with potential witnesses.
In order to maintain the full integrity of the investigation, the Sheriff's
Office will not release further details. The Sheriff's Office has no reason
to believe there is any type of threat to the general public.
