BREAKING: Dubois man arrested for murder in Thursday's shooting death

The Fremont County Sheriffs Office has arrested a 69-year-old Dubois man in connection with the murder of his 64-year-old neighbor. Deputies were summoned the morning of April 7, 2016 to a subdivision on Union Pass for a report of a man lying unconscious in the middle of a dirt roadway. The man was found dead upon arrival of Law Enforcement and EMS. An autopsy completed on Saturday confirmed the deceased man had been shot once in the mid neck area. Investigators linked the defendant to the incident through physical evidence and witness statements. "For reasons unknown it appears the two men met on the roadway and had some sort of confrontation that resulted in gunfire," Undersheriff Ryan Lee said. "The victim received a fatal injury and the Defendant is alleged to have driven away from the scene." "Investigators believe the bullet that struck the victim was the only round fired during the incident." The suspect was jailed in Lander on allegations of Second Degree Murder. The Sheriff's Office is withholding the name of the suspect pending the filing of formal charges by the County Prosecutor, which should occur sometime today. The incident remains under investigation with assistance of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. *h/t FCSO* #county10 #news
