Earth Day picnic featured local foods

(Riverton, Wyo.) - To celebrate Earth Day, the student ambassadors at Central Wyoming College and other volunteers, cleaned up campus this morning and then were treated to a home-grown picnic. Menu items came from local food producers from as near at two miles and from as far away as 20 miles. Compare that to the 1,500 miles food in the grocery store usually travels. The Lost Wells Cattle Company of Brendon and Bobby Tolman provided the grass finished beef, the salad spinach came from Ernie Schierwagen's greenhouse, and the potatoes came from Richard Denke's place.
