HAPPENING NOW: More snow for Lander, Rain in the valleys

(Pitchengine Communities) * (Lander, Wyo.) - There's a Winter Storm Warning issued for the Lander area that is expected to run through 6 p.m. this evening. According to the National Weather Service Office at Riverton Regional Airport, snowfall will continue all day with the heaviest accumulation this morning when snowfall could approach one inch an hour. Snowfall is expected to decrease later in the afternoon and then taper off this evening. A total accumulation of 5 to 9 inches may occur. Riverton and Shoshoni and most of the Wind River Basin is under a Winter Storm Watch where rain is now turning to snow. Snow is expected to fall at elevations above 5,200 feet with rain at the lower elevations, ending by midnight.
