It was a record breaker of a storm

(Riverton, Wyo.) - What's in a number? For snowfall, it's how much fell in the storm of Tuesday and Wednesday. For Fremont County, there were some BIG numbers and a few records. What does this mean for you? It means it was really, really wet snow. Riverton Regional Airport set daily snowfall and precipitation records in the big storm. The big wet snowflakes left 0.79 inches of moisture. The previous record, set last year, was 0.31 inches. As for snowfall, 3.6 inches fell on Tuesday, breaking the previous record of 2.2 inches set in 2011. Lander also set a snowfall record when 1 and a quarter inches of snow fell on Tuesday, breaking the previous record of 1.05 inches from 1984.
