BREAKING: Lander hospital being evacuated due to high water

The SageWest Lander hospital is being evacuated due to unsafe levels of water entering the building. Chief Operating Officer Betty Brown told County 10 that water was reaching such an unsafe level in some areas that the Lander Volunteer Fire Department told them they had to evacuate due to the risk of compromised electronics. At 11:30 a.m., an internal disaster declaration was made; the electricity in the water-logged sections of the hospital needs to be turned off. At this time Brown was unable to elaborate on what sections of the hospital were being hit the hardest. She said that most patients have been safely moved to SageWest Riverton. One patient was moved out of county. The emergency room and the Pineridge psychiatric facility remain open for the time being. More information will be added when it becomes available. #county10 #news
