Lander battling high water on all fronts

The Lander area has begun to see significant flooding this afternoon and only about the half of the expected amount of rain has fallen so far. As of about 2:30 p.m., three inches of rain had fallen in the Lander area over the previous 24 hours. Another 2-3 inches is expected to fall overnight. [image: IMG_1113.JPG] High water is sweeping over rural roads, has caused the evacuation of the Lander hospital , and is causing many people take action to protect their property. The sand piles at the city shop property off Buena Vista near SageWest Lander is a constant rotation of volunteers and property owners filling bags and loading trucks. [image: IMG_1116.JPG] A flood warning is in effect for the Lander area until 2:30 p.m., Sunday. Some locations that will experience flooding Include Lander, Hudson, Milford, Sinks Canyon State Park, Lander Regional Hospital, Ray Lake Cafe, Twin Pines Rv Park And Campground, Fremont county Library, Lander Golf Course, Wyoming Indian Middle School, South Elementary School, Lander Hunt Field, West Elementary School, Wyoming Indian Elementary School, Gannett Peak Grade School, Lander Valley High School And Northside Elementary School.
