At 1:28 a.m. this morning, the Flood Command Center in Lander issued the following release: The Lander/Wind River Reservation area of Fremont County has received over 4-6 inches of rain in the last 27 hours. The area incident command made up of area Law Enforcement/Fire, Emergency Management Personal and Wyoming National Guard have monitored and actively engaged high water levels for the safety of the Public. With the assistance of the Command Team personnel and the general public over 10,000 bags have been filled for public use. Sand bags can be found at the Lander City Shop at 1390 Buena Vista Drive between the Lander hospital and airport, EST Construction at Fort Washakie and Blue Sky Hall at Ethete. The public will be alerted if further sites develop. All Sage West Lander in-patients were successfully relocated to the Riverton, Casper and Cheyenne hospitals due to flood related problems with the hospital. The Lander Sage West hospital’s Emergency Room is still receiving patients. Sage West Riverton is not affected. Hudson is currently affected by the Little Popo Agie River, and Middle Fork Popo Agie River and has seen significant flooding problems. Sand bagging has occurred at homes adjacent to the river, by the water filtration station and the fire hall. Law Enforcement is going door-to-door to alert people in Hudson and downstream from Hudson. Anticipated crest in Hudson is three AM with slowly receding waters. Rain water with a combination of saturated grounds contributed to the area flooding in streets, creeks and houses. Water in the Lander area is receding with the possibility of an additional ½ to 1 inch of rain by Sunday afternoon. WyDOT reports that Highway 132 is closed at mile marker 8 to 14. Other road closures: • Blue Sky Highway near the Little wind Casino • Old Wind River Highway • Plunkett Road • Trosper Lane • 17 Mile Road 4 miles east of Ethete The Little Wind by Riverton is not expected to crest until Sunday afternoon. These are subject to change. Please check up to date road information before travelling on county roads The Little Wind Casino north of Ethete has been closed due to the flooding, according to Assistant CEO Andy Clifford #county10 #news
