City of Lander working to relieve pressure on sewer system

Residents throughout Wyoming are having significant issues with sewer backing up in their homes due to the high groundwater from the recent heavy rain and flooding. "While this incident is not caused by the City, we are doing everything we can to help alleviate the problems caused by the rain event," the city said in a statement on social media. "The City is adjusting our lagoon operations to try and relieve the pressure in the sanitary sewer system." Residents who are experiencing sewer issues should contact a plumber. City customers' tap water is safe to drink.
