Big changes coming at the Gem Theatres

(Pitchengine Communities) * (Riverton, Wyo.) - A big construction dumpster outside of Riverton's Gem Theater is the tip-off that a new movie experience is coming soon. "We're re-seating the entire theatre, two auditoriums at a time," said Barry Cinema's Adam Berry. "I've been wanting to do this for a long time." The new seats are called rocker seats because they rock back and forth and they are luxurious for a movie theatre, with head rests and several VIP rows where the seats will totally recline. Those seats will also have wait service for concessions. "It's a huge step for us, we'll lose some seats because the new seats are wider and we'll have wider aisles, but it will be so much better for comfort," he said. Movie-goers have had a chance to try out the new seats, with a model in the theater's lobby. "Everyone has been raving out them." Barry said that the four auditoriums will be upgraded two at a time so the theater will remain open during the transition. "I'm hoping by June 10th we'll have all the new seats in. We're taking out the old seats in two auditoriums now and getting ready for the concrete work." "It will be a hectic time for us, but well worth it, " he said.
