Red Cross Flood Resource Center to stay open two more days

(Riverton, Wyo.) - The Flood Resource Center at the county fairgrounds' Fremont Center will remain open this weekend due to the number of people seeking assistance. As of this morning, 113 cases had been opened that involve a total of 340 people, according to Pat Kondas, the Red Cross community volunteer leader. "We were inundated with people seeking resources yesterday," she said. Cindi Shank, the senior disaster program manager for the Red Cross, issued the following statement Friday morning: "Based on community need and our desire to assist those affected by the recent flooding, the American Red Cross will extend the operational period of the Flood Resource Center at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton to Saturday, May 14th and Sunday, May 15th from 10am to 7pm each day.
