(Pitchengine Communities) * (Lander, Wyo.) - A decision by the United States Supreme Court to return a case challenging a controversial contraception mandate in the Affordable Care Act to a lower court to resolve, will not have any immediate impact on Wyoming Catholic College in Lander. "Basically it punts the decision back to the lower courts." said WCC spokesman Jonathan Tonkowich. "It is good news because we can continue to offer a health plan that is in keeping with the teachings of the Catholic Church. However, we will have to wait and see what happens in the lower courts." Eight Catholic colleges, including Wyoming Catholic, filed briefs opposing the ACA mandate. According to the Cardinal Newman Society, those institutions include Aquinas College in Nashville, Tenn.; The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.; Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Fla.; Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C.; Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio; *Wyoming Catholic College in Lander, Wyo*.; Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, Calif.; and the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
