Two from county convicted in Federal Court, sentenced yesterday

(Casper, Wyo.) - Two Fremont County residents appeared in U.S. District Court at Casper this week and were sentenced on separate charges. • Emory Christian, 19, of Fort Washakie, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on Wednesday for assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Christian was arrested in Fort Washakie. He received time served, to be followed by two and a half years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and restitution in the amount of $42,573.01. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. • Dale Allen Bennett, 39, of Shoshoni, was also sentenced Wednesday by Judge Skavdahl on two counts of distribution of methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. Bennett was arrested in Riverton. He received 130 months imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 and a $400.00 special assessment.
