Female shoplifter apprehended after her shoe broke and she fell while trying to escape

(Riverton, Wyo.) - Police received a call of a woman shoplifting from the electronics department at Walmart but the suspect, later identified as Natalie Brown, 30, of St. Stephens, had already left the store. She was seen talking to people in a car in the parking lot, and when police questioned those folks, they learned of Brown's identity and the fact that Brown was across the street at Wendys. When officers found her in the restaurant and approached her and told her she was going to be arrested on an outstanding warrant, Brown allegedly came up with a pair of scissors in her hand with one blade facing up. An officer grabbed her wrist and knocked the scissors away, but Brown began to run towards the south door of the business. Shortly after she started her get-away, one of her shoes broke and she fell down, quickly scrambling up, according to a police report. But she fell again before reaching the door and she was then taken into custody. A customer in the business alerted police that Brown had thrown a bag under one of the tables near them. Inside the bag was three pink and blue tutus, three shirts with Kmart tags, a Samsung Galaxy J3 cell phone allegedly stolen from Walmart and a bottle of hand lotion. She was arrested for resisting arrest, shoplifting and the outstanding Failure to Appear warrant. #county10 #news
